Position Summary:
The Territory Manager position is responsible for executing sales strategies, initiating contact with existing and potential customers, identifying needs, and selling appropriate products and/or solutions to meet those needs. Responsible for creating and maintaining solid, long-term business relationships with customers on behalf of the Company and reaching sales and gross margin goals.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop new business, as well as, retain and develop existing customers within assigned territory.
- Maintains open lines of communication with Inside Sales Representative(s) to maintain the highest level of customer service.
- Work with Systems Engineering team to Identify, cultivate, and manage Fluid Power opportunities throughout all phases of the sales process.
- Apply technical knowledge of company represented products, systems, and services to provide a value proposition that affectively addressees the customers’ needs.
- Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, leads, quotes, projects, contacts, and correspondence in company approved CRM.
- Work to achieve specific sales growth goals and strategic objectives set forth by Management.
- Prepare sales action plans and strategies.
- Schedule sales activity in order to maximize time management.
- Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, vision, and values.
Education/Experience
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- 3-5 years of technical sales preferred. Bachelors degree in Marketing or Engineering, and relevant technical training, or other specialized education could be considered supplemental to work experience.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Fast-paced, goal oriented, self-motivated.
- Excellent relationship building skills. Ability to establish and create relationships at all levels with customers and prospective organizations.
- Proven sales closing skills with the ability to “think outside the box” when assisting customers with complicated solutions.
- Willing and able to learn products and sales processes/systems.
